Hong Kong, 16 November, 2013 – QNET Hong Kong conquered the annual Rainbow Trek challenge once again! The fired up event was held on 16 November 2013, and witnessed RYTHM Foundation Trustee, Mr. Richard Zinkiewicz leading the QNET team to victory.
QNET teamed up with the Island School in a 25-50-kilometer trekking, activity, to raise funds for the New Sight Congo Project, an initiative organised by a non-profit Surgical Eye Centre in the Republic of Congo to help the blind and visually impaired
In the wee hours of the morning, participants gathered at Peak Galleria where they began hiking. The first 25 kilometers from Peak to Pok Fu Lam Country Park, was a piece of cake, but the next hurdle onwards, they had to overcome the ultimate trail challenge – the Dragon’s Back and the Big Wave Bay.
On top of that, a hefty amount of HK$5,000 was generously donated for this project by QNET Hong Kong, together with the corporate donation of HK$20,000. Our graceful leaders, Dato’ Sri Vijay Eswaran and Datin Sri Umayal Eswaran too donated a generous amount of HK$30,000 for the noble cause.
Through the RYTHM Foundation, QNET continues to support New Sight and the Rainbow Trek, in hope to fulfill their dreams of creating a better world for the blind and visually impaired.
The Rainbow Project is a non-profit organisation established by a group of concerned parents and childcare experts who acknowledged the need for English language education for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Hong Kong.
