Singapore, 9 November, 2013 – Picasso said “Every child is an artist” to remind us of how much children enjoy colouring and art. A child’s imagination has no limits, and for kids, art and craft is a way for them to express what they feel inside. This thought inspired us to organise the first Papyrus Kraft workshop for our FOOTPRINTS mentees in Singapore on 9th of November.
The word ‘paper’ originated from the Egyptian word ‘papyrus’. Papyrus Kraft is a new and innovative technique of painting and sculpting with non-toxic Mulberry paint. Paper crafts are an inexpensive medium in which e kids can express their artistic talents at the fullest.
Mentees were wowed by the safari themed art workshop, guided by the charismatic Sue; this crafty tutor showed the children how to use mulberry paint to create their own masterpieces. The activity sky-rocketed the children’s self-esteem and gave them opportunities to express themselves in ways they never imagined.
To see these kids mingling, laughing and sharing their cute idea was priceless and it was indeed the essence of the workshop’s success.
