QI Hong Kong staff participated in a meaningful programme to provide on-the-job training for students with special education needs at the Hong Kong office recently. The programme was conducted from November 2017 to February 2018, to provide students with special education needs with an opportunity to experience working in an office environment.
The programme saw the participation of QI Finance Department, Human Resources & Admin Department, Network Success Department and Legal Affairs Department, among others, to train the students with some basic skills to be able to adapt easily in a corporate environment. Each department had the privilege to share knowledge and train one student with special education needs.
A staff, Catherine Chan from Network Success said the QI internship programme provided a good platform for children with special needs to be exposed to corporate environment. “I believe the internship gave them a chance to gain valuable real-world experience, which they can apply in the various fields they choose in the future.”
Meanwhile, another staff, Mayah Wong from the Finance department said the students were smart, responsible and were willing to learn. They were also friendly, meticulous and concentrated on the task given. “It gives joy that I am able to be part of this programme to help instill good work ethics in the students.”
