Cake cutting ceremony – to celebrate!
FOOTPRINTS was first initiated in 2009 by Vijayaratnam Foundation, the Malaysian chapter of RYTHM Foundation, and launched in Hong Kong in July 2011. What began as a simple initiative to groom youth to excel in life, eventually grew into something more. After eight months of nurturing young minds through a series of experiential learning and teambuilding and educational activities, the FOOTPRINTS mentoring programme in Hong Kong saw 14 mentors and their mentees from HKFEW Wong Cho Bau Secondary School come together at a special Testimonial Night on the 21st of June 2013. The event celebrated the success of the past year and it was indeed a time for participants to reminisce their journey that was full of unforgettable memories and happy moments.Live on stage – the graduates!
Among the highlights of the night was a speech by RYTHM Foundation Trustee, Richard Zinkiewicz, a screening of a special video from RYTHM Foundation Principal Trustee Dato’ Sri Vijay Eswaran, followed by presentation of certificates and souvenirs to participants. Also noteworthy was a video presentation that was a collection of heart-warming testimonials by the mentors and mentees. In this video, participants shared their experiences on how FOOTPRINTS had helped them build trust and new friendships, and also improve their basic social skills. Interacting with their mentors and mentees also helped them discover new things about themselves; they learned how to turn their weaknesses into strengths and how to use their strengths to make a difference in someone else’s life. That evening, everyone had an opportunity to mingle with one another and inspire each other through their own unique experiences. The event ended on a cheerful note with a cake-cutting and photo session.Smart and talented 🙂
