RYTHM Foundation recently collaborated with the House of Refuge Foundation in Philippines to fund the education of 31 children. The sponsorship will cover each child’s tuition fee, meal allowance and other expenses. The funds came from The V, who donated their cash allocations to RYTHM Foundation for this extremely meaningful use. House of Refuge began when a group of fervent individuals encountered street children who had been abandoned, neglected or mistreated by their own families. It started with a halfway house on 21 September 1986, providing shelter and basic needs for street children and later became a licensed child caring institution in 1991 known as the House of Refuge Foundation. Since its inception, the House of Refuge has served more than 1,000 children and currently cares for 37 children, aged between four to 17 years old. RYTHM Foundation’s funds will assist the House of Refuge to continue to provide beyond the provision of a home atmosphere and basic necessities. The funds will further help the House of Refuge to nourish the spirit, mind and body, being vital in facilitating meaningful change in the kids to become valuable contributors to society.
