In support of our Malaysian chapter, Vijayaratnam Foundation, in collaboration with Kalpana Dance Theatre, proudly presents MAHAMAYA, a performance aimed to raise funds for Taarana, the Foundation’s center for children with special learning needs.
MAHAMAYA, a combination of exquisite traditional Indian Bharatanatyam and Odissi dance styles is scheduled for the 20th and 21st February 2016 at Kompleks Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah in USJ 1, Selangor, Malaysia, Datin Sri Umayal will perform alongside Nritta Ganeshi Manoharan, both principal dancers extremely renowned in their work of art.
Mahamaya or Transcending Illusion is a homage to the Divine Mother who abides in the heart of every being. She is the divine creatrix who has manifested the dance forms of consciousness as adoration for Her beloved, the eternal formless Supreme Being. In truth these two timeless lovers are not two. Rather, they are inseparably bound to play out their cosmic dance of love for all eternity. She is that aspect of the Divine which is imminent and accessible. There was never a time, she did not exist. Her abode is always the present moment. She appears as Shoonya Bindu, the divine zero feminine energy, which then expresses itself as Prakriti or Universal Nature as the Creator, Preserver and Destroyer.
For ticket purchases or to make a donation to Taarana, kindly contact Kalpana Dance Theatre at +60176725672, +60122918308 or Vijayaratnam Foundation at +60379679994, +60379679998 or +60122646453 (Kalyani).
