Datin Sri Umayal Eswaran, the Chairperson of RYTHM Foundation and tireless advocate for education and social transformation, recently offered immeasurable inspiration in anecdotes about change at V-Convention 2022.
The convention is the largest gathering of network marketing professionals associated with the QI Group’s flagship business, QNET. RYTHM Foundation is the social impact initiative of QI.
Datin Sri Umayal’s (DSUE) address to an audience of over 15,000 participants from more than 30 countries expounded on the theme “Be The Change” and stressed that all attitude shifts start with each individual.

5 Powerful (and Unequivocal) Life Lessons
Don’t expect miracles in this world; there is no such thing as luck.
Do not leave anything to chance. Hard work, determination, and dedication are what will repay you. That is how you achieve great things.
If you keep making money, move forward, and stomp on everyone along the way; if you want to cheat people just so you can make money, you will have absolutely nothing.
This (life) is not an easy journey. You will have detractors saying, ‘What you are doing or want to do is not going to work.’
DSUE adds: “Other people’s words may tend to enslave us. For example, when someone says something negative, you may react angrily. Likewise, when someone hurts you, you may cry. We do not know if these words are right or wrong, but we react to them. So, stop reacting but respond instead.”
Life is not just about making money, spending it, and buying big houses or Ferraris. When you look back, your family should figure as your pillar of strength. Do not go home to a place without anyone there.
DSUE adds: “Transform yourself through your journey to success. Become a better sister, brother, or child to your parents.”

How You Can ‘Be The Change’ in 3 Ways
As individuals, we must change because we cannot tell people what is right and wrong and what they can do better without making an effort to change ourselves.
DSUE adds: “Make a change, although it can be the most challenging thing. Start doing something every day, and you will be amazed by the difference you see.”
Listen to your voice. Convince yourself that you want to be better. The time is now to do something to change your life because you must become a better person before anything else can change.
DSUE adds: “Make that change today because every minute counts. Life is fragile. Whatever your compelling reasons are, make that your life-changing reason.”

Here’s a Way to Step Out of Your Comfort Zone
Do not look at everything outside to change when you remain the same person – comfortable where you are and not doing more than what you are doing. Get out of your comfort zone, or nothing will change.
DSUE adds: “Over 25 years ago, (QI Group Founder and Executive Chairman) Datuk Sri Vijay Eswaran said of the business, ‘This is what I want to start.’ We both had jobs, and we were doing okay. But we left everything, including our home, moved to a strange country, and stayed true to what we wanted in life.”

About V-Convention:
This year’s five-day V-Convention 2022 in Penang was the first in-person gathering since 2019, after nearly three years of COVID-19 restrictions on physical events. The bi-annual affair resumed earlier this year with the virtual V-Convention Connect (VCC).
V-Convention includes a mega exhibition of QNET products, training workshops by entrepreneurs and leadership professionals, information sessions about the industry, new product launches, and a showcase of QI’s sustainability and community initiatives through the Foundation.
