Hard at work packing Boxes Of Hope.
The Box Of Hope is an annual charity project aimed at providing useful or educational gifts to under-privileged children in Hong Kong and Asia. The 2012 likely recipients would be 47 under-privileged children from countries such as Hong Kong itself, Macau, China, Mongolia, Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam. A total of 10 volunteers helped in the packing of the boxes which was held on 13 November and 22 November, 2012 in Central. Around 500 boxes were packed per session. Boxes were in the shape of medium-sized shoe boxes where items included toys such as tennis balls, finger puppets, jigsaw puzzles, yo-yos, building blocks, small musical instruments, playing cards as well as trucks and cars for boys and dolls, clip-on earrings and make-up or hair accessories for girls.We did it! Boxes stacked together.
Also included were educational supplies such as books and stationery, hygiene items such as toothbrushes, combs, hair clips and soap and other items such as gloves, sunglasses, caps and hats among other things.Essentials for the children.
The main aim of the Box Of Hope activity was to bring smiles to the faces of under-privileged children and to show them that they are loved and remembered, especially during this Christmas season. RYTHM Foundation will continue spreading joy and love to children in need by reaching out to them and extending a hand in making their lives more meaningful and complete.
