The children at the pre-school had a fun-filled time with our volunteers who spent time to engage with them, make them laugh and read stories to entertain them. Our volunteers also put together fun and interactive games for the children who enjoyed the activities. The visit was organised by QI Hong Kong as part of our Staff Social Responsibility activity to reach out to children with special needs and help boost their self-esteem and confidence. The Hong Chi Pinehill Pre-school is a safe and happy place for about 35 children aged between two and six years old with various special needs, including hearing and vision impairment, autism, hyperactive disposition and other physical disabilities. The school with the support of the Welfare Department, provides the necessary care for children with disabilities who are orphans or whose families have difficulties taking care of them. The Hong Chi Pinehill Pre-school is the first of its kind in Hong Kong, established to provide year-round residential care and education for children with special needs. In the spirit of RYTHM – Raise Yourself To Help Mankind, 15 QI Hong Kong staff visited the Hong Chi Pinehill Pre-school to bring joy to the children with special needs in the school.
