In conjunction with Eid al-Fitr (the Festival of Fast-Breaking) QNET Malaysia hosted a Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House at the QI Tower on 25 August 2014. The event, carried out by RYTHM Foundation had about three hundred IRs present and the place was filled with smiles, laughter and of course the buzz of QNET’s latest partnership with Manchester City Football Club.
Our young friends of FOOTPRINTS Malaysia, under the Vijayaratnam Foundation, brought twenty five children from the Selayang Community Centre to the event, where they were treated by our billion hearts QI staff and QNET IRs to a delicious spread of healthy vegetarian Hari Raya dishes and highlighting classic local delicacies of lontong and ketupat palas.
Apart from delicious food, our FOOTPRINTS buddies had loads of fun participating in the colouring activity and were each given goodie bags.
“We are blessed with many things that we sometimes take for granted in our precious homeland, amongst them the great food, the beauty and diversity of the Malaysian race as well as our beautiful weather. In the midst of enjoying our good fortunes, we sometimes forget that there are those less fortunate who need our care and attention. Hence, this Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration presents us an opportunity to lend a helping hand, especially to these young children who need to feel loved and secured,” said QNET’s Director, Mr Krishna Kumar, of the activity.
“This spirit of giving and sharing is what spurs us to nurture our communities in all our work around the globe which is carried out under the concept of RYTHM (Raise Yourself To Help Mankind) – the guiding principle in all that we do.”
