“Every human has the power to change themselves. Empathy for another is more important than ever … You cannot continue to live a selfish and self-centred life.”
These words set the tone for an insightful recent interview with Datin Sri Umayal Eswaran on ‘Ingraining a Culture of Social Responsibility’ on the hugely popular Malaysian commercial radio station MIX.
The interview with the Chairperson of RYTHM Foundation, the social impact initiative of the QI Group, was featured on the station’s MIX Drive segment with deejays Hafiz and Guibo. MIX is one of Malaysia’s most popular English radio stations, recognised for its fun and energetic approach to broadcasting.
Datin Sri Umayal inspired listeners to take action and make a difference in the world. “Inculcate in children the value of empathy, love, and compassion. Respect others so you can go out there and do something meaningful,” she emphasised.
The show also captured Datin Sri Umayal and RYTHM’s passionate and unwavering advocacy of holistic projects for underserved children, youths and communities worldwide.
It highlighted the Foundation’s flagship initiatives, including the Maharani School Programme for adolescent girls, the adoption of Malaysia’s indigenous communities in Pahang and Sabah, and the QI Group’s Employee Community Impact volunteer programme.
