Cambodia: 7 June 2005 – An overnight fire that recently ravaged the village of Prek Tacung has left 200 Vietnamese and Cambodian families without homes and with no protection from the elements. These stricken families are in desperate need of basic necessities and building materials.
The village, located on the outskirts of the city of Phnom Penh in Cambodia, has been given a lifeline by RYTHM Foundation with the help of a USD2,000 cheque presented towards the relief fund.
Just days after RYTHM Foundation was made aware of the sorry plight of the homeless Cambodian families, the Foundation swung into action on 19 May 2005. The cheque was presented to the First Secretary of SR Vietnam in Cambodia Mr Nguyen Van, and the President of the Vietnamese Association in Cambodia Mr Sum Chi. The donation has already helped to make a significant difference in the lives and spirit of the people of the village.
