“I fully understand our family’s financial situation and the need to uplift myself through education. So, when I got admission to study at MSU college in Sungai Petani, Kedah, I was torn between chasing my dream and giving it up because of our financial situation,” she said.A teacher, Mary William who knows Pavitra well and saw her potential, advised her to apply for financial assistance from RYTHM Foundation’s Gift of Life (GOL) initiative. “I took her advice and applied. I am very happy when I found out that my application was approved,” she said. The funding from the Foundation helped Pavitra cover her college fees.
“I like being with children and I want to shape their young minds. Thank you to RYTHM Foundation for helping me to achieve that dream,” she said.The financial assistance from RYTHM Foundation has helped Pavitra to inch closer to her dream of becoming a degree holder. “It is my wish to continue my studies and enrol in a degree programme later. This diploma will help me to better support my family as those with diploma get paid more than those without that qualification,” she said. “Once I have completed my diploma programme, I hope to find a job immediately and work to support my family. One day, I believe I can achieve my dream of becoming a degree holder,” she added. The Foundation’s Gift of Life initiative supports underfunded government schools, orphanages, and welfare institutions for the disabled and disadvantaged. The Foundation then further helps with the disbursement of funds and monitors progress.
