QI Malaysia employees recently organised a 2-day Blood Donation and Organ Pledging Drive at Nu Sentral Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
Our 22 volunteers worked hard from 10 am to 5 pm each day, to encourage members of the public to donate blood and also to educate members the public on the importance of pledging to donate their organs.
The 2-day drive successfully assisted the National Blood Bank Malaysia to collect a total of 160 units or pints? of blood. Our volunteers were very happy and satisfied that they got the opportunity to participate in a meaningful Staff Social Responsibility (SSR) activity that helped to save lives.
Dr Noryati binti Abu Amin, Director of the National Blood Bank of Malaysia, was appreciative of the work and efforts that were carried out by our volunteers. Their efforts helped to ensure sufficient supply of blood to meet daily patient needs and emergency cases, especially during the Ramadhan and the festive month.
“A very big thank you to all those involved in organising this blood bank which has enabled us to maintain a safe level of blood supply for hospitals. I hope this collaboration will be a continuous effort in the future as well,” she added.
