The event itself was a special treat for the kids of the Foundation, where they were overwhelmed by the fun activities lined up for the first ever mentor meets mentees activity!
The activity began with a brief introduction about the Footprints programme and a fun ice breaking session between mentors and mentees! The line-up of activities for the day focused on fun elements, in order to create a relaxed mood among participants.
The Virlanie kids surprised their mentors with a cool performance that left everyone star struck! This was followed by a mouth-watering lunch that left our mentors and mentees all fueled up for their next activity.
Later, everyone was divided into groups and each group was given a topic to present. The main objective of the activity was to build trust, improve co-ordination as well as increase alertness towards the environment and the people around them. Our mentees were eager to learn and the event succeeded in creating a new bond between our mentors and mentees.
As the day came to an end, RYTHM Foundation’s ever so graceful Trustee – Ms Donna Marie Imson, gave an inspiring speech to show her support for the pioneer batch of Footprints Philippines.
The event also helped our young mentees to further explore their talents and build their self-esteem predominantly in the usage of the English Language. The activities conducted also aimed to sharpen their skills in goal-setting and promote good teamwork. Mentors and mentees went home with exciting goody bags along with happy memories of a day well spent.
