In yet another collaborative effort with our long-term partner, Child’s Dream Foundation (CDF), RYTHM Foundation (RF) sponsored five (5) students from underprivileged backgrounds in Cambodia. The aspiration is to provide continued education for these students, who, due to financial limitations, would have otherwise fallen off the education trail. The scholarships are for the duration of three (3) years, starting early 2017.
RF shares CDF’s belief that education can enhance opportunities in life for children and youth, empowering them to make informed decisions, to find employment and set the foundation for sustainable continuity as they will then in turn give back and help develop as well as uplift their own communities. The Foundation focuses on education because we believe it promotes a culture of peace, understanding and is often considered as the initial step to uplifting a community.
The five (5) students who have been chosen to receive funding from RF for their studies including boarding are:

Ambition is to be a Doctor
Hon Lhoeuy

These students, who have just recently started high school at the Pouk High School and Trapeang Prasart High School, are expected to complete their first semester at the end of April 2017. CDF will provide us with regular progress reports on these students, with the first report due to be sent to the Foundation by end May 2017.
In addition to supporting CDF’s funding subsidies for students to complete their education, RF has partnered with CDF to construct a single story building, the Na Luam Secondary School in Laos and to fund a computer lab for the Zin Nya Monastic School in Mandalay, Myanmar. The Foundation looks forward to working with Child’s Dream Foundation on more projects dedicated to empowering children, youth and communities in the region.
Stay tuned for more updates on how far these students have progressed!
