QI Philippines employees recently took time off from their weekend to help refurbish the Aguho Elementary School on 25 May 2019.
Our 40 volunteers gathered early in the morning to give the school children a more exciting reason to come to school via the Brigada Eskwela programme, which is a national programme aimed at enhancing school facilities in the Philippines.
Among the activities completed by the volunteers were painting wooden chairs, walls and school railings. They also helped carry out minor repairs around the school in addition to cleaning the school compound to ensure students have a clean and safe study environment.
Prior to the day of the programme, volunteers gathered to purchase cleaning and painting items such as brushes, brooms and dustpans that were needed for the refurbishment work.
Both the volunteers and the teachers worked tirelessly together in the hope of achieving the goals of RYTHM Foundation and the Brigada Eskwela programme; to give young children a better environment to pursue their dreams.
The school principal, Ms. Marife Castillo expressed her gratitude towards the volunteers.
“I thank the volunteers who took part in this activity for transforming the school into a beautiful place that is both welcoming and conducive for our students.”
