RYTHM Foundation Helps Young Chinese Youth Become Sporting Champions
China: 12 May 2005 - RYTHM Foundation has propelled 50 underprivileged young Hong Kong and Macau students into the sporting field of their choice in conjunction with the 'Be A Champion' Study Tour.
To help students become sporting champions, RYTHM Foundation is the main sponsor of the programme, which is organised by the Training Bureau of the State Sports of the General Administration of China (SSGAC) and the Beijing Foreign Enterprise Service Co. Ltd (FESCO).
Following the theme of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 500 Hong Kong and Macau students, aged 8-16, will select a sports activity to be trained in by China's national coaches. The training will take place in the training campus of China's national sports heroes, helping to lend an air of inspiration to the young sporting hopefuls.
As well as being the main sponsor of the Study Tour, RYTHM Foundation will also fully sponsor 50 poor and underprivileged students who will be nominated by their school to attend the ten-day programme. RYTHM Foundation will join Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and other representatives from Educational Institutions on the judging panel to select these 50 students.
A major highlight of the programme is the opportunity for tour participants to apply to become volunteers in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Committee will also present the story behind their Olympic bidding process and how China managed to win the bid. The Committee will also give the students a rare glimpse into the plans being made for the big international sporting event.
Alex Fong, a famous local pop singer, will be the Ambassador of the programme and will appear at the charity's press conference on 13 May 2005. A senior management representative from RYTHM Foundation will present Alex Fong, and the donation cheque that will allow these selected students to attend the programme will signifying the Foundation's generous support towards this meaningful youth programme.
