QNET SINGAPORE DEDICATES QUALITY TIME AT OLD FOLKS HOME
A cheerful Saturday mood filled the air when Peavehaven Nursing Home received 14 volunteers from the QNET Singapore office.
The elderly were treated with an early morning surprise when volunteers prepared a delightful breakfast for them. Local favourites such as the radish cake and vegetarian fried vermicelli were served to a group of 40 senior citizens.
According to a volunteer Shanthi Aravndan, “This experience was very meaningful and we should aim to do more of such activities in future. It is definitely an eye opener for all of us.”
Another volunteer Ked added, “Although Singapore is highly developed in many aspects, the human touch carries a lot of weight and I could see the happiness in the eyes of the elderly people.”
Jim Teo, the Programme Executive from Peacehaven Home was pleased that the volunteers dedicated their time with the old folks.
“Thank you RYTHM foundation for coming to our home and brightening up the environment with the visit. Our residents fully enjoyed their specially-prepared meals and spending time with the volunteers”.
